SafeNet Shelter/ Transitional Living Campus; Various small capital improvement tasks including lighting upgrades, site improvements and bathroom upgrades.
SafeNet Annex; A 2-story 2352 total s.f. shelter facility providing 4 bedrooms plus 1 accessible bedroom, living spaces, laundry, and a quiet room for respite. Project collaborated with the Erie Art Museum for therapeutic artwork.
SafeNet Big Backyard; A 27,551 s.f. outdoor retreat for mothers and children that are given refuge from domestic abuse. AJTA collaborated with Design Leader Dan Dahlkemper of Dahlkemper Landscape Architects of Erie, PA and consultant Ken Finch of Green Hearts Inc. of Omaha, NE. AJTA also collaborated with DY Timber Framing of Ohio for the heavy timber cruck shelter.
SafeNet TLC; 1,338 s.f. 2-story stair addition at the Transitional Living Center between (2) 3,500 s.f. house structures to join them and provide common social space while adding sprinkler protection, upgrading the access control of these secured facilities, enhancing daylight within the structures and combining utility services. This facility provides transitional housing between the emergency shelter and standard apartment living for young mothers and their children.
